How to Increase Fan Numbers on Facebook for Hotelier

Hotels : How to increase your Fan number on Facebook?

You have already created a Fan Page for your Hotel and now you’re wondering – “How Do I Get People to ‘Like’ my Page? If so, you’re not alone.

Many Hotel Managers struggle with getting Fans.
Here are several ways to get more Fans.

But don’t forget, you need to fix your goals before starting, you need to be able to measure your efforts, your results in a certain laps of time.

Your objectives should be realistic.

  • Create A Customized Welcome Page

Creating a Customized Welcome Page is an excellent way to increase your number of fans. Statistics show that it will help you turn 72% of your visitors into fans.To create a custom page, you can use the Facebook application, Static HTML iframe tabs.

If you’re not familiar with HTML code, then you can go to Pagemodo.com. Pagemodo is free for one template with their small logo at the bottom of it, otherwise you can buy 3 or more pages for a monthly fee, and they have ready-made templates that you can use. So, all you have to do is just pick a template.

You need to upload nice photos, try to get ones a little bit different than the ones you get on your Hotel Web Site, you must give the impression to your fans they are unique, they are YOUR hotel fans.

There are also websites like Woobox.com or Involver.com where you can add sweepstakes, coupons, and more to your Fan page. For involver you can use only 2 modules free.

  • Email your customers list or contacts list & invite them to your new Fan page

You can send a nice email to your Customer list or Contact list letting them know about your new page, and you could say something like – I would be honored if you would click ‘like’ to become a fan of my new page (and make sure to include a link to your page).

Altough you must ensure your guest opt-in to receive email from your property. The easiest way to get it is to add a sentence on the registration card, like this upon Checkin you can collect customer email address and their autorization.

  • Use a Pre Arrival Confirmation E-mail

Some Hotels brands are using this email marketing tool Serenata.com to reconfirm the guest booking and also to inform him about the different services or outlets he will be able to find during his stay, you can also include a link to your Fan page.

  • Post Links on your Social Media Profiles

For example, in your Bio on your Facebook Personal Profile, you could include something like: Join me on my Fan page at: http://facebook.com/hospitality-MGT.ch.

In your Twitter Bio, LinkedIn Bio, or Youtube Bio you could type: Connect with me on FB at: http://facebook.com/hospitality-MGT.ch
On your Hotel Blog you can add It on each post.

  • Use Facebook as Your Page

When you login to Facebook, you can click the down arrow in the upper right-hand corner next to “Home”, then click “Use Facebook as Page”. When you click on this, you will now be interacting with people as your Page (NOT as you personally). So, a strategy that will help you get more fans is to click “Use Facebook as Page” and then comment on other Fan Pages as Your Page.

  • Use Facebook Status in Multi Language

On Your wall, some posts will be dedicated to certains Fans regarding their languages or their countries. Try to imagine what Fans are thinking when you post the same message twice or three time in French, English or Italian and you add a photo also three times.
You want fans, help them to become fans.
If your page is not a Professional page they won’t take attention on it.

  • Use Facebook “Ads”.

You can always purchase ads on Facebook to drive traffic to your Fan page.
If you use this strategy, make sure to target your ads appropriately and start out small.
Start out by only spending a few dollars a day and testing out different ads, so you can determine which ads work best for you (before you spend a lot of money).

  • Add the Facebook “Like” Box to your Website.

When you add this to your website, then people can click “like” and become a fan of your Page (directly from your website).
When people come to your website and they see that you have a large following on your Fan page, that also helps build up your credibility.

  • Ask Friends to Share your Page.

All Fan pages have a “Share” link on the left-hand side of the page.

You can always ask your friends to come to your page & click on the “Share” link. This way, your friends can share your page with their followers.

  • Add Your Fan Page Link to your Email Signature.

If you do this, then everytime you send an email to someone, they’ll see your Fan Page link in your signature.

So, they can easily click on the link to go to your Fan Page.

  • Invite Friends.

On the right-hand side of every Fan page, there’s an “Invite Friends” link.

Simply click on that link in order to invite your friends to become a Fan of your Page.

  • Create an Event Launching your Page.

You can create an Event called like: “Launch of the _______ Page”.

When creating the Event, in the More Info section, you could type a sentence about your Fan page and then type:
I would be honored if you could click ‘like’ to become a fan of my new page http://facebook.com/hospitality.MGT.ch (always include a link to your page. If you don’t include the link, then people may not know where to go to access the page).

When you’re selecting Guests to invite to your Event, you’ll see a link to “Add a Personal Message”. I recommend clicking on that link & typing the same thing again: I would be honored if you could click ‘like’ to become a fan of my new page http://facebook.com/hospitality.MGT.ch.

If you have your Fan page Link in 2 places, there’s a better chance that your friends will click on it in order to become a fan.

  • Create a Contest.

Contests are everywhere on and off the internet and they are increasingly popular on the social media networks.
This has a good reason – they provide something everyone wants – free stuff. Contest marketing works also for those who organize the contests . With contests you are able to build more awareness and excitement over your product or site over a short period of time ( or a long period if you choose) than with most other traffic generating techniques.

What do you think about the above these Way to increase your Fans on Facebook?

  1. Thank you Jenn.
I’am happy to see you will use some of these features.
As you said you need to know where your audience is, but it’s another subject…

  2. Awesome overview of great features and functionality of Facebook. I find it especially useful to cross link from one social profile to another. It could come to pass that someone stumbles upon your social network or site even if that’s not their preferred media, and they’ll be grateful to know they can connect with you how THEY want to connect. Know where your audience is!
